What is the TSE Product Showcase?
The Total Store Expo (TSE) is an annual event hosted by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS). Founded in 1933, NACDS represents the interests of more than 30,000 retail chain pharmacies and suppliers worldwide. Members include drug stores, supermarkets, mass merchants, and online pharmacies that provide a wide range of health and wellness products and services to retail shoppers.
The Product Showcase is a feature of the expo that displays the latest and most innovative products in various categories. The winners of the Product Showcase are selected by the attendees of the expo, who vote for their favorite products in each category.
A winning innovation in healthcare

Sarah Cacia, director of retail business development, shared more information about the product, the brand, and the showcase win in a recent interview with Drug Store News.
“Our company was founded with the goal to make DNA-based prenatal and pediatric information accessible and affordable for parents everywhere.” Cacia went on to say that “moms want as much information as possible, as soon as possible, so they can start planning for their family … it seemed the perfect fit for a retail launch.”
Part of the appeal is SneakPeek’s patented, pain-free collection method. “Previous at-home gender tests have required a finger prick and squeezing blood from a finger tip. This hurts!” She continued, “Our exclusive Snap device makes the process virtually pain-free … several people at TSE tried Snap for themselves and loved that it was painless.”
Turning a showcase win into retail sales
Winning the TSE showcase helped boost brand awareness and credibility among retail category managers. The Retail Smarter team leveraged the momentum with show attendees, including Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen (Update: Now Cencora), Walgreens, and Walmart. As a direct result of the TSE win, retailers like Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen (now Cencora), and Walmart.com fast-tracked the SneakPeek to be included in their online marketplaces, broadening consumer and retailer access almost immediately. (Update: Walgreens chose to distribute SneakPeek in more than 4,700 stores in 2023.)
